Singing
Foundation Course
A foundation course
in vocal production, based on the work in Gillyanne's book
Singing and the Actor. The course lasts three days and includes
a brief overview of anatomy and physiology of the voice, with a
practical introduction to vocal function. Videos of the larynx are
shown and issues such as vocal health, hygiene and stamina are
discussed. A substantial part of the course involves exercises to
raise awareness of voice and body, with work on breath, phonation,
range and resonance. The main focus of the course is to enable the
students to understand that 'good voices' can be developed and that
everybody can sing.

Staff Development
Vocal Process trainers have been teaching techniques in healthy
vocal functioning for many years, and this solid background will
help your vocal team to solve musical and vocal challenges in your
workplace. Staff Development days may focus on a particular topic
such as Belting, Singing and the Actor training, or Vocal and
Musical Style in Musical Theatre, or on general issues of pedagogy
and performance practice.
Staff Development
can also be delivered to small groups of tutors (maximum 4) at the
Vocal Process studios in London. This is particularly useful for
those working out of the UK. Clients include staff members from
major institutions in Sweden, Finland and Spain.
