What are
the elements of vocal style and how can a singer learn to master and
then combine these elements to create a flexible and unique sound
for themselves? How do Blues singers differ from Gospel singers?
What makes a great Jazz singer and can you train one? What are the
tools that singing teachers need to work confidently with students
who want training and support in popular singing styles?
In this one-day
workshop based on her book Popular Singing: A Practical Guide
to Pop, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Country and Gospel, Donna will
explore all of these questions in a practical setting that will
include all participants. By the end of the day you'll come away
with a powerful set of analytical and practical tools for
understanding, singing and teaching the fundamental elements of
style in popular singing.
This workshop is
suitable for vocalists, singer-songwriters and teachers of popular
music.
