Overview
This unit focuses on synthesising the parts of information from
Module One into a whole. It comprises identifying and working with
more complex vocal sets, including breath use and range work;
identifying targets in vocal training and performance practice;
exploring differences in style requirements and consonant management
in complex vocal tasks such as singing and energised speech.
This course
will enable you to differentiate between different vocal
styles in music e.g. classical, musical theatre, jazz and pop,
and equip you with knowledge about spoken voice use in
different environments e.g. theatre, presentation skills,
teaching, radio work, health in everyday voice use. The course
will be led by Gillyanne Kayes
and Jeremy Fisher.
Course
pre-requisites: Singing and the Actor Training, Vocal Process Core Training or Voice Style
Intensive.

Produce
Computer voice prints of vocal qualities that come from
different vocal sets |

Record a given
extract in spoken voice for each vocal set. |
Unit Assessment
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate
the vocal qualities on all vowels and to maintain a given
vocal set in spoken voice throughout the given piece.
Other Information
Advanced Singing and the Actor
Training is open to public subject to completion of Singing
and the Actor Training. Course follow-up is available to Integrated Voice
Participants only.

Day 1: 9.30am -
8.00pm
Day 2: 9.30am - 6.00pm.

Integrated Voice
THE FACULTY
Gillyanne Kayes is a
freelance writer, teacher and voice expert. She has been
training voices for the last 21 years and has numerous clients
working in professional theatre and film.
Jeremy Fisher is a
performance coach, Musical Director and prize-winning
accompanist. As a vocal coach he works with opera sings,
actors, singing teachers and song writers on repertoire, style
and performance integration.
David Carey is a
Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, David studied Speech and
Drama at the RSAMD, gained his MA (with distinction) in
Contemporary English Language and Linguistics at Reading
University. He is currently Voice Tutor at the Royal Academy
of Dramatic Art.
Sara Harris
is
Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Voice) at Queen
Mary's Hospital, Sidcup and founder member of the Voice
Research Society (now the BVA).
Tom Harris
is
consultant ENT Surgeon at University Hospital Lewisham,
Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolwich and Queen Mary's Hospital
Sidcup, and Consultant to RADA.
Heather Keens
is a
professional singer, voice teacher and accent coach. She trained as
a performer in voice and piano at the RCM and RCM Opera
School, and as a voice teacher at the Central School of
Speech and Drama
Jacob Lieberman
is a registered
osteopath and psychodynamic psychotherapist. He is a pioneer
in the field of laryngeal manipulation.
Lise Olson is
currently a Lecturer in Acting and Voice at the Liverpool
Institute for Performing Arts and teaches 'The Voice of
Violence' for Vocal Process.
Jenevora Williams is teacher-in- residence for The National Youth Choir, works with the choristers at St Paul's Cathedral, and acts as consultant to Decca, Hyperion and the ROH on child performers.
