Overview
Advanced Singing and the Actor Training was designed in response to
requests from those already familiar with our work. It enables
you to fine-tune your diagnostic and isolation skills and to
extend existing practice. In two intensive days we will
examine mixed vocal sets - incorporating breath management and
range work - and brainstorm practical applications in teaching
and performance practice. The course will also include
discussion of the parameters for healthy and unhealthy voice
use, exploration of differences in style requirements and work
on vowel and consonant management in complex vocal tasks such
as singing and energised speech.
As in Singing
and the Actor
Training, there will be time for small group work, with
individual attention to help you hone your skills, and
troubleshoot any problems. On the Saturday evening there will
be an insight session for those of you who would like to
explore application of the work with material of your choice.
This course
will enable you to differentiate between different vocal
styles in music e.g. classical, musical theatre, jazz and pop,
and equip you with knowledge about spoken voice use in
different environments e.g. theatre, presentation skills,
teaching, radio work, health in everyday voice use. The course
will be led by Gillyanne Kayes and Jeremy Fisher.

Training is open to the public subject to completion of
Singing and the Actor
Training. Course follow-up is available to Integrated Voice
participants only.
