Overview
This course is designed to equip you with information and
practical strategies for working with children and
adolescents in the classroom, in private singing lessons and
in choral training. Jenevora Williams has considerable
experience in the field as a teacher, consultant and voice
researcher. On course she will present key aspects of vocal
physiology that relate to the development of the voice from
infancy to young adulthood. Using information from her own
and others' research, she will guide you through what to
expect in young voices in terms of tonal quality, range and
stamina. During the afternoon session Jenevora will
demonstrate key techniques for safe vocal development in a
masterclass session.
This course
provides essential knowledge for those planning to work in
secondary and tertiary education, for those involved in
choral training, or in youth theatre. The course is also
highly relevant to those working with clients in tertiary
education, equipping them to target vocal problems arising
from poor voice use during the years of voice change.
