Overview
Core Training is the
Vocal Process foundation course based on techniques described in
Gillyanne Kayes' book 'Singing and The Actor'. The course examines
key principles of vocal function that underlie all types of vocal
training, enabling you to improve vocal efficiency and effectiveness
in any genre.

Anatomy, Physiology and Acoustics of the vocal instrument;
Effort and awareness |

your voice: the vibrating mechanism; laryngeal orienteering;
onsets; dynamic control; resonance; twang; the nasal port;
effort levels; breath management; and dealing with cracks and
breaks |

The "Vocal Sets" and
how to access them - Speech, Falsetto, Cry and Twang - visual
feedback for your voice |

The practice
sessions are led by experienced facilitators, who give
individual attention to all participants. Two informal
masterclasses are included in the weekend, where participants
can apply the work in different vocal genres. |
An in-depth training
weekend for teachers and performers seeking greater vocal and
stylistic flexibility.
Duration
Course begins
9:30 on Friday and finished 17:30 on Sunday. Friday and
Saturday have optional late finishes at 20:00.
