Dear Colleague …

In the past, our snailmail newsletter has proved immensely popular. With visits to our web site rocketing, more and more of you are using the Internet highway to find out what we are doing. So we've created this new ezine to add to our regular features, helping you stay up-to-date with Vocal Process. So let's start with the web site …

Vocal Process Web Site is Redesigned

Vocal Process Web Site

Originally created and designed by Jeremy, the Vocal Process web site has attracted hundreds of visitors each week and made it to the top of the league tables of more than one search engine.

Now the site has been redesigned and rebuilt in order to house a mass of new information. There are more articles, a complete list of all courses since 1994 and a new course catalogue for INSET and private events. As you read this we're adding more sound files, spectrograms, photographs and excerpts from our CDs.

You can also join our new interactive area, "My Vocal Process". When you login with your email address and password, you will see at a glance which pages have been updated since your last visit, read about new products and courses and gain access to more information and articles.

Integrated Voice: The Vocal Process Education Programme

It has been an exciting year for us, starting with the response to 'On The House'. We have spent many months following this event, refining the plans for our own vocal practitioner training programme.

Integrated Voice: The Vocal Process Education Programme

The result is Integrated Voice, an education programme for voice professionals. We have an excellent teaching faculty including Dr Meribeth Dayme, David Carey and Julie McLean. Tom Harris and Sara Harris have agreed to be involved with the endoscopy event and you will recognise many familiar Vocal Process tutors on the faculty page.

The programme will begin late in 2003 and our course document is available to the public later this month. Part of the ethos of the programme is to equip teachers, performers and those who work with voice to be able to work in a variety of styles or vocal environments. With many of the day courses open to the general public, Integrated Voice forms the heart of our education programme.

Find out more by visiting the Education area of the new web site.

Musical Theatre at the RSAMD

Musical Theatre Intensive

We will be returning to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama this summer for our Musical Theatre Intensive course.

This year we have extended the course to three full days and included input from Pop expert Gill Main. Once again there are two strands - Young Performers (16-25) and Professional Development (entry by audition only). We also have places for observers on Strand Two.

With the Edinburgh Festival only 30 minutes away by train, MTI promises to be an exciting weekend.

Gillyanne is course advisor to MA in Musical Theatre

Over the coming academic year, Gillyanne will be spending time the RSAMD in her capacity as course advisor to their new MA in Musical Theatre. During the first two terms she will be a regular visitor, teaching work from Singing and The Actor and checking students' vocal progress. Jeremy is also involved with the course and will be doing professional preparation and performance integration with the students during their third term.

For more information visit the RSAMD web site.

Better Vocal Functioning
