Description
Looking at a Voice is the first of a series of voicebox
videos from Vocal Process ["stunning shots" The Singer Magazine]. Each video contains clear footage of a
healthy functioning larynx performing various vocal tasks, both
singing and speaking.
Looking at a
Voice acts as a short introduction to endoscopy, and begins by
identifying the different structures that can be seen (the images
above, taken from the video, shows the position of the true vocal
folds). The endoscopy footage itself shows a healthy larynx speaking
and singing five vowels. The viewer can rewind or pause the video at
any point.
This series has been
devised for singers and speakers wanting to see and hear different
vocal manoeuvres, for SLTs involved in voice and endoscopy, and for
those new to scientific vocal terminology and application.
Charitable Donations
Vocal
Process is donating 10% of the proceeds from the Voicebox Videos DVD to
registered charities. Our current chosen charities are the
British
Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM) and the
British Voice Association (BVA).
