Monthly Summary
During the academic
year 2001-2002, The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the
Royal Academy of Music pooled their resources to finance a series of
computer analysis sessions with Jeremy. Penelope Mackay, one of
their classical singing teachers and already an experienced Estill
practitioner, came to the Forest Hill studios to go through the
testing protocols for Estill licensure. As part of the staff
development series, she has written an article on the proceedings.
“The immediate feed-back of the voice print, which produces an aural
recording as well as computer print-outs enables the singer to
analyse their sound and sharpens their perceptions as they follow
the trace. It is particularly good for monitoring excess breath,
vibrato, onsets, and vowel articulation. You can read more on our
Articles page.
Since this report was written, (and having achieved a 100% success
rate), Jeremy has closed the testing centre for EVTS licensure. He
now gives computer voice analysis sessions for those interested in
gaining accuracy and insight into their professional vocal use. For
more information email Jeremy on
admin@vocalprocess.co.uk,
or come and see a live demonstration of computer voice analysis at
our On The House event on September 7th.
