Vocal Process News Archive...

28 February 2003
Monthly Summary

The biggest news of the month concerns our website. We were delighted to find that www.vocalprocess.co.uk (now www.vocalprocess.co.uk) hit the top of the search engines Google, Altavista and Yahoo on 11th February. Just to put that into perspective, typing Vocal Process into the Google search engine produces over half a million different sites, and this site was ranked at number one! Thanks to all of you who have visited us, created links to our site, and have told your friends. Keep up the good work.

February was a busy month for Vocal Process with Londons first public Successful Singing Auditions course. With opera singers, musical theatre singers, singing teachers and a Pop Idol participant, it was a genuine cross-genre event. Everyone was taken through their paces, and the feedback has been excellent: several of the participants have reported giving more successful auditions, and one now has several agents interested in signing him.

Jeremy has been on tour around the UK for most of this month with Hatstand Opera, but managed to fit in a training weekend with the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers. He and Gillyanne arrived in Walsall for the Faculty of Directors annual meeting as the sole guest presenters, and had huge fun creating practical exercises and demonstrations to put the Vocal Process work into practise in Ladies Barbershop singing. We came away with as much information as we gave!

We are now putting the finishing touches to the second of our CDs. In response to several requests we have brought out a female version of the popular Basic Vocal Functioning CD. This version, entitled Better Vocal Functioning, includes information gained from the LABBS training weekend. Jeremy narrates the instructions, and Gillyanne gives demonstrations of the various exercises. We have found that an audio CD is a great aid for people learning our work, as many singers and actors learn by auditory input. Copies of the new CD will be available by the end of March, and will be featured in the Books and CDs section of this website. Remember that we still have copies of the original Basic Vocal Functioning CD available (for men's voices).
