Monthly Summary
With the month
drawing to a close, we are looking back to a highly successful
RSAMD course, and forward to our free
taster day, 'On The House'.
The Musical Theatre
Intensive had over 50 participants from all walks of life. Strand
One (Young Performers) got to work individually and in ensemble with
MD Matthew Reeve and adolescent voice
expert Deirdre Trundle, and had a taste of professional direction
from Head of Drama Dr Donna Soto-Morettini. Strand Two, Advanced
Performance Preparation, had individual attention from Jeremy,
Gillyanne and Donna. The participants were put on the spot on the
Sunday morning with a request for their best 16 bars in the
Successful Auditioning section. Even under those testing
circumstances there were moments of performance magic. For the first
time on one of our major courses Observers were admitted, and
without exception they found the experience extremely useful.
Another course is planned for next year.
We have had an
astonishing response to our On The House event. We returned from a
3-day conference in Dover to requests for 47 tickets! The day is
shaping up into a Must-See event, and we only have a few tickets
left. The Regent Hall, belonging to the Salvation Army, is a lovely
venue in the heart of Oxford Street in London. Due to the response,
we have changed the format of the day, so that everyone who
participates will be able to see all four taster workshops. We will
also be revealing our new accreditation programme – a training which
integrates singing and speaking voice, and Jeremy will be giving a
live demonstration of spectrographic voice analysis for the visually
minded among you.
